The Real Deals ESG Awards have been created to identify and celebrate those who are making positive change through ESG in private equity. This year’s awards ceremony took place on 30th November at The Landmark London.

Lucy Siegle, journalist and broadcaster specialising in living a green, eco- friendly existence, hosted the Awards gala in-person where she handed out 23 well-deserved trophies.

The 2022 Real Deal ESG Awards were made of the following categories:

The judging process included outstanding ESG professionals who ensured that the winners rightly deserve to win their trophies!

Over the past few years the private equity industry has been under increased pressure from investors to put ESG at the forefront of their work. This has intensified the focus on social and environmental issues and practices within managers and their portfolio companies.

Against this backdrop, private equity firms have been charged with identifying challenges and implementing changes needed to have a robust ESG strategy while continuing to deliver strong returns. These awards are designed to recognise the efforts and success of private equity firms and their advisers as they work towards implementing effective ESG policies and ultimately improving the world we live in.
